Chris is the "old girl" out here and I try not to think about how long it's been since she was that leggy little bay filly I bought at 3 months of age.  She's getting on up there but you can't tell it to watch her playing in the pastures and carrying the kids on long summer trail rides.  However we are starting to have problems getting her to hold onto a pregnancy.  So she has been "retired" to trail riding, baby sitting, and just enjoying the good life.

         

Over her lifetime, Chris had 4 fillies and one colt.  Her last two fillies, Tardee Silver Lining and Tardee Little Pepper were both shown and have earned national ApHC points.

   Chris is one of those mares that will do about anything for you, we've used her as a tease mare to teach stallions to mount the dummy mount, she's a great nanny for foals and youngsters, especially the ones that need a bit of discipline, and she is the best baby sitter for human kids that you could hope to find!

 

Chris has started teaching the newest little ones a bit about the art of horsemanship this summer...
