January:

1/3:  Another year has come and gone!  Where does the time go?  Well, if anyone is actually keeping up with this site, you will be seeing some new changes here in the next couple of weeks as I give the entire site a new "face lift".  Why?  Well...to celebrate making it 10 years in this crazy business!  Some of the old "stand by" pages will get updated, or moved, or just completely changed.  There will be at least a couple new pages, and lots of crazy stuff going on so hang onto your hats...

And fear not, we have our usual line up of "things to keep Janelle way too busy...".  There are 4 foals due in March and a whole show season that we plan to make the most of if at all possible.  We have come away from 2007 with a few regional high points and I hope to do even better this year.  Here on the farm we're rebuilding our fencing, and hopefully will have a few new paddocks, better hay quality and quantity, and perhaps a summer filled with actually RIDING our horses instead of just feeding them!  I know...we dream big around here though.  After all, that is our motto ;o)

February:

March:

4 Healthy foals!  What mare can one ask for in a breeding operation?  Both mares bred to Al gave us gorgeous bay fillies.  Our Choklate Confetti colt is simply stunning.  And our paint foal will no doubt step right into his big brother's footsteps and be a hard one to beat!

April

Foaling season is officially done!  Al's outside babies are born, both fillies, both healthy and beautiful!  Congratulations to Lynn MacDonald and Vickie Smith on your beautiful girls!

June:

NAA - Whew, what a wild ride.  Max garnered a couple of wins in FPD stallions, and grabbed some points in NonPro stallions.  Over all, he did well and seems to be growing into a very nice young stallion.  Scarlet chipped away a little more at her ROM in Aged Mares - hard to believe she's old enough to be considered "Aged".  Miranda showed her Spider (Tardees Silver Lining) and once she stopped messing with her so much she began doing much better!  She finished the day with some very respectable placed in Open Most Colorful!

All in all, a successful show...

July:

7/2 - Yes, I know - I am WAY behind.  The year just has flown right by.  I am currently trying to get this website updated and current.  We have been working here on the farm to get things running smoothly and to catch up on a lot of our hands-on work with the youngsters.  We will be weaning the three foals from this year in the next couple of weeks.  I have a few of the older gang to start under saddle, and some ground work to do with the yearlings just so that they remember they aren't wild mustangs.  We have put one hay crop up and are hoping to get a nice second cutting.  If our tractor will hold up it just might happen!

Congratulations to Jini Groen on her purchase of KC's filly by Al - Saucy Dreams, otherwise known here as Gabby.  She is one heck of a baby and should do well in your program!  I can't wait to see what a beautiful lady she will grow into!!!

We had originally planned to go to Nationals this year.  Unfortunately with Mischief's injury, Max was the only one ready to go and the cost of fuel just made the whole thing not worth the effort for one horse.  Hey, I know we're not going to win though I think he would have held his own and done pretty darn well.  Oh well...there's always Worlds to try for!  So we had set our sights on LCAC in Plattsburg, which is hands down our favorite show up here anyway.  But due to a conflict of family matters (in which my brother owes me BIG) we won't be able to make it there either...so yes, I'm bummed and we don't have anything until EAA...

I know in talking to many, many folks that times are getting a little tough on us small breeders right now, and for several of us, this year has had it's ups and downs.  I know we had a great foaling season but a rather frustrating breeding season all told.  We do have 3 foals coming next year by Al though we had hoped to have more, some things just weren't meant to be.  Hopefully next year will be a bit less stressful and the mares will be more obliging.  To help folks out with everything else sky-rocketing in price, we have cut Al's stud fee back.  If you're looking to Spot a new dream, now's a great time to look into it!

And last but not least, I have gotten a significant amount of website work done...still not there yet but the next "big" thing is the mare page, and once that's done, everything else will just be icing on the cake!  So hang in their my faithful readers...we're getting there!

BIG CHANGES are underway!  I am going back to school and will be stepping back from much of the breeding and showing that I've done for the past 10+ years.  I realize that the market could not be in much worse shape for me to be trying to sell down our herd, but I'm hoping to make things work all the same.  Always the optimist...

So for anyone out there looking to find a really good horse for a really good price - our change is your gain.  And for our part, we just want to see them going to good homes and preferably continuing to promote our farm and stallion, who we are going to continue to stand to a very limited number of mares.  This coming season will not be too terribly bad I'm hoping, but next year I will be in school full time and so we will likely not be taking any on-the-farm breedings, nor will we be breeding very many of our own mares.

So feel free to check out our sale page and Dream Aloud!
